Avoiding the pain and suffering of a tension or stiff neck headache in the incredibly high stress world of today can be an incredibly difficult challenge. With all of the stresses associated with the workplace and your home life, there are practically countless numbers of situations that can place you in a position to be stressed out. From your boss yelling at you with instructions for tasks that seem impossible and setting deadlines that are completely unrealistic to your husband, wife or children needing you to baby them day in and day out, the stress from simply living your life can build into a real problem in no time. Eventually all of that stress and tension will reach the boiling point and leave you with a stiff neck headache or a tension headache that can amount to incalculable pain in the long run.

Thanks to all of these stresses in the world, the stiff neck headache has become far too common in our high speed lives. While a vast majority of us are able to keep working through the stiff neck headache to finish the job at hand, there are a rather large group of people who become completely incapacitated by the average tension or headache. Although they are really not very significant in the whole scheme of things, there could be a variety of very serious underlying problems if you have frequent and painful headaches. We are talking about underlying problems that are not simply curable with things like Tylenol, Advil and aspirin, but major bacterial infections, viruses and even the possibility of a stroke or other crippling ailment.

If you are one of the people who suffer from frequent and severe occurrences of stiff neck headaches, you should consult a doctor as soon as possible. While simple tension or stress is usually the only thing to blame, there are problems such as meningitis and high blood pressure which must be ruled out before you can go on living your life in peace. Once a doctor has determined that you are not at risk of having a serious problem with a headache symptom, he will give you plenty of treatment options for how to deal with the stress that causes many a stiff neck headache.
